See the Northern Lights.
The artist labors while he may, But finds at best too brief the day; And, tho' his works outlast the time And nation that they make sublime, He feels and sees that Nature knows Nothing of time in what she does, But has a leisure infinite Wherein to do her work aright. HENRY ABBEY, "Along the Nile"

Landscape: Aurora Australis, or the Southern Lights of Australia. --This is dreamy. would love to have dinner watching the lights dance across the horizon with the Milky Way as the backdrop. BEAUTIFUL.

Aurora Borealis & the milky way over Australia
Why would the sky glow red? Aurora. Last week's solar storms, emanating mostly from active sunspot region 1402, showered particles on the Earth that excited oxygen atoms high in the Earth's atmosphere. As the excited element's electrons fell back to their ground state, they emitted a red glow. Were oxygen atoms lower in Earth's atmosphere excited, the glow would be predominantly green. Pictured above, this high red aurora is visible just above the horizon last week near Flinders, Victoria, Australia. The sky that night, however, also glowed with more familiar but more distant objects, including the central disk of our Milky Way Galaxy on the left, and the neighboring Large and Small Magellanic Cloud galaxies on the right
The closest active galaxy to planet Earth, Centaurus A, is only 11 million light-years away. Forged in a collision of two galaxies and spanning over 60,000 light-years, Centaurus A is also known as NGC 5128. Near the galaxy's center, left over cosmic debris is steadily being consumed by a central black hole with a billion times the mass of the Sun.

A composite image of the #CrabNebula showing the X-ray (blue), and optical (red) images superimposed. The size of the X-ray image is smaller because the higher energy X-ray emitting electrons radiate away their energy more quickly than the lower energy optically emitting electrons as they move. One day i WILL see the Northern Lights #bucketlist
Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis! #beautiful
Aurora borealis in Norway. I will see the Northern lights one day.
Norway (Best Viewing Locations: Tromsø, Alta, Svalbard, Finnmark) - The Nature’s own gigantic light show, when Earth meets Heaven can be also scientifically explained as collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere. The lights are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. - Check out the: TOP 10 Places To See The #NorthernLights (Aurora Borealis)
