Gift, My Dad
Paeonia suffruticosa (tree peony) is native to China, where it is known as Mudan. Deer proof...I have this in my garden, it was a gift from my Dad long before I really knew how to garden. Now each Spring when it blooms I know my Dad is in the garden with me...it just makes me smile...

Vaccinium 'Sunshine Blue' (Southern Highbush Blueberry)
Highbush Blueberries, Edible Gardens, Southern Highbush, Gardens Savvy, Gardens Scrapbook, Sunshine Blue, Beautiful Gardens, Border Gardens, Blueberries Bush
Vaccinium ‘Sunshine Blue’ (Southern Highbush Blueberry) This beautiful compact blueberry bush is ideal for hot, humid climates, and works well when planted in a large container. Afternoon shade is suggested in regions with particularly hot summers (Georgia, for example). Blueberry bushes work well when combined with other shade-loving plants like azaleas, rhododendrons and hydrangeas as part of a woodland border garden where the soil is naturally acidic.
Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana), native to central and eastern United States.
