It’s not a magic trick and it’s not sleight of hand – scientists really are using levitation to improve the drug development process, eventually yielding more effective pharmaceuticals with fewer side effects.

Artificial jellyfish built from rat cells // Bioengineers have made an artificial jellyfish using silicone and muscle cells from a rat’s heart. The synthetic creature, dubbed a medusoid, looks like a flower with eight petals. When placed in an electric field, it pulses and swims exactly like its living counterpart.
They made a jellyfishoid that actually swims the way jellyfish swim, by coaxing cells grown from a rat heart to grow along a silicone framework. This is apparently going to be useful for cardiac research. Or in case you want to make an army of jellyfish.
"In yet another science-is-awesome moment, a group of Harvard University researchers has engineered an artificial jellyfish from silicone and cells from a rat’s heart."

Bioengineers have made an artificial jellyfish using silicone and muscle cells from a rat’s heart.
Scientists engineer a cyborg jellyfish from rat cells and silicone. Called a medusoid, it's a completely engineered jellyfish that blends living and non-living parts — specifically, the creature is a thin layer of rat heart muscle cells grown on top of a layer of elastic silicone. The result is a creature that swims like an ordinary jellyfish. Created by a group of bioengineers at Caltech and Harvard, the medusoid could be the first real step toward cyborg life.
