Here, Mitchell Owens explains, Rothschild refashions the design for windows adding a valance with double layers of oyster glazed chintz cut to remind her of the icicles she saw on winter trips to Russia. For the now flattened citron silk taffeta panels, the tassels are replaced with bows. The curtains were made by London upholsterer Peter Askins & John Fowler & his assistant Imogene Taylor.
