Orion -- Is that real? (Most Hubble Space shots, well ... they are ALL colored meticulously, time consuming. Deciding what is shadow what is light. If only all the Hubble Shots with their vivid colors were taken in color, and that THAT was the color ! But there's at least one older man who paints the stars for us. A special on PBS showed him at work. My balloon was burst, but if this is how it is, then we can appreciate his augmented art.

NGC 3576: Glowing Gas in the Milky Way Date: 28 Oct. 2013. A region of glowing gas in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way galaxy, NGC 3576 is located about 9,000 light years from Earth. Such nebulas present a tableau of the drama of the evolution of massive stars, from the formation in vast dark clouds, their relatively brief (a few million years) lives, and the eventual destruction in supernova explosions. This image from Nasa's Spitzer Space Telescope shows a stellar nursery containing thousands of young stars and developing protostars near the sword of the constellation Orion. Massive stars light up the Orion nebula, the bright region near the centre of the image. To the north of the nebula is a dark filamentary cloud of cold dust and gas over five light years long, containing ruby red protostars that jewel the hilt of Orion's sword Photograph: Spitzer Space
