    The Crumpet Shop at Pike Place Market, Seattle: Slightly richer-tasting and puffier than English muffins, these edible sponges soak up honey, blackberry preserves, thick pats of butter, or whatever else you decide to slather on top. Great loose leaf or bottomless teas to wash it all down. Had to go twice; for a sweet and a savory!

    Ellis Island. One of my favorite memories has to be singing The Star Spangled Banner a cappella with my high school choir, New Renaissance, on the ferry approaching the island. Somewhere, there are tourists who were listening that day who remember this too.
