Dryer sheet as iron cleaner. Remove gunk from the soleplate of an iron. With the setting on low, rub the iron over the dryer sheet until the residue disappears, and you're left with a pristine press.

    Forget the paste method...just used a dryer sheet and iron on low....wow! Really works great!

    Yea, I tired it and found that out too. I was so excited about the cheap tip when I pinned this tip. Guess I I have to go back and buy the iron cleaner.

    It worked for us after my husband dropped the hot iron on the carpet. This and table salt on a brown paper bag with hot iron.

    That worked took quite a bit of elbow grease and baking soda and my iron wasn't nearly as bad as yours ; / I'm sure you had a nice work out!
