What do we care if we were expelled from college, Scarlett. The war is going to start any day now so we would have left college anyhow. STUART: isn't it exciting, Scarlett? You know those poor Yankees actually want a war? BRENT: We'll show 'em.

Ashley and Melanie reunited during Ashley's Christmas leave
MELANIE Ashley! Across the lawn, her skirts streaming behind her, her arms outstretched, Melanie flies closer to the approaching figure. MELANIE Ashley! (the soldier cannot be identified, but you can see that his face is covered with a dirty blond beard. He is wearing a ragged mixture of blue and grey uniforms) MELANIE Ashley!
Melanie runs to greet a war-weary Ashley, who is walking home from the Civil War.

From the opening scene with the Tarleton (Twins in the book) Boys (in the movie)...Scarlet appears in this gorgeous dress that became known as the White Prayer Dress. This dress is still in existence and is owned by the LA Country Art Museum. It's in the archives housed at the Natural History Museum down the street from the LACAM...that collection is a huge one of old Hollywood iconic movie costumes and quite fun to see when they do have an exhibit.
If one of you says war one more time, I'm going to go into the house and slam the door!
Stuart: " I've got an idea. We'll talk about the Wilkes' barbecue at Twelve Oaks." Brett: " That's a good idea."

Scarlett checks her appearance in the mirror. "Oh, Mammy, I'm so thin and pale and...I haven't any clothes. Scoot up to the attic and get down Ma's old box of dress patterns. What you up to with Miss Ellen's portiere (draperies)? You'll make me a new dress. Not with Miss Ellen's portieres. Not while I got a breath in me. Great balls of fire! They're my portiere's now. I'm going to Atlanta for that $ 300 and I've got to go looking like a queen."

Scarlett calls to Ashley as he is about ready to return from his three day furlough at Christmas. "Ashley! Ashley let me go to the depot with you. Oh, Scarlett, I would rather remember you as you are now...not shivering at the depot. All right."

Hair, My Sister
I always compare my relationship with my sisters to GWTW. I mean don't we all have those moments where we feels like pulling their hair out by the roots?
