GOOD idea! Freezing buttermilk or heavy cream cubes for cooking. I never use a whole carton nor do I have in stock when a recipe calls for a bit! This is genius!

Freeze Leftover Buttermilk or Heavy Cream or Half & Half. Know how a recipe calls for a small amount of buttermilk and the rest, sometimes, goes to waste? Pour it into ice cube trays and pop it in the freezer. One quart fills 3 trays with 2 T. of buttermilk in each cube.Bag up in freezer bags, these should stay fresh for up to 3 months (be sure to date your bags). Next time you need buttermilk, there it is.

Freezing buttermilk or heavy cream cubes for cooking. I never use a whole carton nor do I have in stock when a recipe calls for a bit! Also works with herbs - just pop in ice cube trays, cover with water, freeze, and store!
