Pastel painted Pinecones: This has to be one of the cheapest, cute decorations I have made this year. Just simply collect pine cones from your local woods, park etc. wash them in soapy water and leave to dry. Then paint them in shades of colours to match your Christmas color scheme.

Image inspiration! Create a scavenger hunt for a hike during which you collect a variety of pine cones which you later use to create a piece of art for the home or classroom using string and a fallen branch (which can also be collected on our hike). Talk about nature as art and/or diversity in nature.

A blown-glass pinecone decoration with a rust-colored, wired woodgrain print ribbon and rustic bells and feathers. Very nice.

Easy enough to do yourself. This garland is made from Australian Black pinecones, and is perfect for hanging on a mantel, draped on a piano, or adorning your christmas tree. The pinecones are sprayed white and hung with fabric ties on a red rope. Measures approximately 7.5ft.
