I finished State of Wonder, by Ann Patchett, yesterday. It was recommended to me, but I didn't knwo what to expect. I really enjoyed it and found it really hard to put down near the end.

For decades in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries women were sent to "mad houses" for many outrageous reasons.
