Everyone who owns a gas stove, pin this!! It works! Mine were absolutely disgusting and I tried everything to clean them. It was so gross how much came off! Definitely the best stove grate cleaner ever. A little ammonia in a plastic bag, leave overnight.

Clean gas stove grates. It works! Place a stove grate into plastic bag, pour ammonia into bag and seal it. Place bag into a glass baking dish (just in case the bag springs a leak)..let it sit for about 5 hours, remove grate from bag, rinse off and walla you have a grease clean stove grate.

Greening Your Home: How to Make Your Own Household Cleaners

An excellent all-purpose household cleaner can be made from 7 cups of water combined with a cup baking soda and cup household ammonia. Ammonia cleaning solutions suitable for household use are generally 5-10% ammonia mixed with water. Ammonia cleaning solutions used in commercial settings may be as much as 25% ammonia & are highly corrosive. Ammonia leaves a relatively streak-free shine and used widely as a glass and surface cleaner, including on stainless steel and porcelain.

This worked like a charm. Wish I had known this a long time ago
