North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco 1st acquired by USMC.Each of 2 observation sqdns had 18 a/c-9 OV-10As & 9 OV-10Ds night observation.Marine Air Reserve observation sqdn also established.Operated as forward air controller & finally phased out 1995 after Desert Storm,which saw final combat losses of OV-10s by US.Among losses 2 USMC OV-10s due to lack of effective infrared countermeasures.Also thought slow speed made it more vulnerable to anti-aircraft weapons.
