    El árbol más alto del mundo en la actualidad es una secuoya del Redwood National Park en California, EEUU. Su nombre es Hyperion y mide 115,54 metros (aproximadamente la altura de las Torres Kio de Madrid). Se descubrió en 2006 y su ubicación exacta no ha sido revelada para evitar las visitas y su deterioro. Su edad también impresiona, entre 700 y 800 años.
