GEOMETRY: I like the idea of teaching area & perimeter of a rectangle all in one short lesson with Wheat Thins and Pull-Apart Twizzlers because I can more easily differentiate inside (area) vs. outside (perimeter) by referencing Wheat Thins vs.

This relates to the NCTM standard of measuring with multiple copies of units of the same size. During this activity, students are laying cheez-its side by side to calculate the area of various squares.
