Pina Cola Green Monster 1 cup loosely packed baby kale or sub regular kale, baby spinach (or sub 1/4 cup frozen kale/spinach) 1 frozen banana 1/2 cup frozen pineapple pieces 1/2 cup canned light coconut milk ice cubes, optional, sweetener of choice, to taste
Ingredients 1/2 cup apple juice can substitute with greek yogurt or almond milk 1 banana 2 small oranges 1/2 cup pineapple 1/2 cup carrots 2 cups spinach 1 1/2 cup ice Helpful tip: Buy spinach in bulk at Costco and freeze in ziplocs. A big bag of spinach will make 10 smoothies!
Peach Green Smoothie (Serves 2, 125 calories: 2 cups frozen peaches, 2 handfuls of spinach, 1 fresh peach, pitted and chopped (optional), 1 cup water, 1 T peeled, minced or grated fresh ginger, and 1 T honey + more to taste)
Kale Smoothie With Pineapple and Banana. The original recipe calls for 1/2 coconut milk (I used 1 14oz. can), 1/2 cup water (I'd use ice), 1 1/2 cups chopped pineapple, 1 ripe banana, and 2 cups kale or spinach. I also added the juice from 1 lime and 1/2 - 1 tsp. powdered ginger root. You could also use grated fresh ginger. The recipe was delicious!!
Chocolate Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe ½ c berries of choice (strawberries, blueberries, etc.) ½ banana ¼ c oats 2 c spinach (or any leafy greens) ½ tbs cocoa powder 2 scoops protein powder – chocolate or vanilla ⅓ c Greek yogurt 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp flaxseed – optional 1 tsp psyillium husk – optional ½ c water handful ice
Aloha Smoothie ~ (serves 2) 1 fresh mango, peeled and chopped (or 1 cup frozen chunks)1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple 1/2 of a banana, fresh or frozen (nice and ripe) 1/2 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt 1 cup milk A handful of ice Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy! Sounds good.
