  • Hilde Van den Abbeele

Judy MULLIGAN. Recently unveiled at the Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House, Judy's gorgeous Venetian plaster wall and ceiling, along with the peacock door, were among the highlights of the show. She also painted the dazzling geometric pattern on the upper wall and ceiling. The door to the study was first gilded and the peacock hand-painted, with the painting extending right on to the Venetian plaster wall. (hva)

Porta amarela / Yellow Door Rua Fernandes Tomás, 749 - Porto - Portugal....why can't things be this pretty anymore??

Cool black and white. The most photographed of all the Georgian doors in Dublin, if you go to a souvenir shop you are more than likely to see this on a postcard. www.snaphappyross...

The "Secret" Study. Every parent of a 2-year-old needs a hidden room to keep computer and important files out of reach!

Barcelona - Gran Via 582 g 2 ~ Casa Gerónimo Granell (Architect: Gerònimo Granell i Barrera)

Not feeling the oriental antiques, but I love the wall color against the thick white moldings, especially with those tomato and gold chairs

Just beautiful! And the green of the door matches the hue of the Wisteria leaves!

Pebble mosaic pathway featured at the 2010 Chelsea Flower show. The peacock design is fantastic! Photo by Claire Ashman.

Inspiration. Only cause I don't think it would work on a craftsman or ranch style home or it could and I will call my house "The Shire". No compliants there.

What's behind this old turquoise door? Use your imagination. It could be anything. But chances are its magical. A great addition to any white wall! I had the opportunity to visit New Orleans and tour the French Quarter. Such a beautiful city. I am offering this as an 16x20 fine art photograph. $75.00

I love Polish Pottery, which is all based on the patterns of Peacock feathers. This would be great with my dish collection!

Id have a Blue Heron of course. Pebble perfect: A Peacock Mosaic by Maggie Howarth in pebbles fought with other elements in this deliberately ornate garden but in a small garden it would work brilliantly as a showstopper all by itself. Craftsmanship that can be appreciated close-to is a good way to make a confined area far richer, and it doesn't need much attention from the gardener
