In memory of the TITANIC. It sank 100 years ago today. April 15, 1912 - 2012

The Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US.

Ships have kept cats on board dating back to ancient times. Mostly for their ability to catch mice and rats, but also to provide companionship and camaraderie for sailors away from home for long periods of time.  And yes, Titanic was no exception. She had a ship cat named Jenny.

Titanic was the largest ship of its times which was crashed into an ice berg during its first journey claiming hundreds of lives.
