Charles "Charlie" Brown (occasionally called Chuck by certain characters) is the main protagonist in the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schultz. Charlie Brown is a lovable loser, a child possessed of endless determination and hope, but who is ultimately dominated by his insecurities and a "permanent case of bad luck". He is often taken advantage of by his peers.
Lucy Van Pelt: first appearance March 3, 1952. Known around the neighborhood (and by her little brother, Linus) for being crabby and bossy, Lucy can often be found dispensing advice from her 5-cent psychiatrist's booth, yanking away Linus' security blanket, or humiliating Charlie Brown. Lucy's only weakness? Her unrequited love for the piano-playing Schroeder.
