The UP House in real life!! This incredible floating house was inspired by Pixar’s animated hit movie Up. National Geographic and a team of scientists, engineers, and balloon pilots teamed up to successfully launch a 16′ X 16′ house 18′ tall with 300 colored weather balloons. Reaching an altitude of over 10,000 feet, the team set a World Record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The flight lasted approximately one hour.

Real - For their new TV series How Hard Can It Be?, the people of National Geographic have created a 16 feet by 16 feet house inspired by the Pixar movie Up that can fly for real, thanks to 300 helium-filled weather balloons.

the real Up house. The National Geographic Channel, a team of scientists, engineers, and two world class balloon pilots successfully launched a house from a private airfield east of Los Angeles. The launch inspired by the Disney/Pixar film Up set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The house and balloons measured more than 10 stories high and reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, flying for approximately one hour.

This just in and it has knocked our socks off. If we are to use only one tag for this post, it would be #unbelievable. How else can you describe this stunning re-creation of the Pixar Up movie house? It was a project undertaken by the National Geographic Channel along with a team of scientists, engineers and experts(the kind of people who can can launch a 16′ X 16′ X 18′ house to an altitude of 10,000 feet). The effort is considered as the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. Kudos for

Love this: In March 2011, National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers and two world class balloon pilots successfully launched a house measuring 16 feet by 16 feet and 18 feet high, using 300 eight-foot coloured weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles. Just like the movie, "UP."
