Gina's Oxtail Stew

4.5 hrs to make • Serves 4-6


5 lbs Meaty oxtails


1 cut into thick 4-inch thick pieces 2 stalks celery
2 Bay leaves
8 oz Button mushrooms
2 Carrots
2 tbsp Chives
6 cloves Garlic
1 Onion, large
1 Shallot, small
3 tbsp Thyme, fresh leaves
1 (15-ounce) can Tomatoes, with juice

Canned Goods

2 cups Beef broth
1/4 cup Tomato paste


1 tbsp Lemon juice

Pasta & Grains

1 Buttered noodles
1 (12-ounce) package Wide egg noodles

Baking & Spices

1/4 cup All-purpose flour
2 Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Oils & Vinegars

2 tbsp Olive oil
2 tbsp Red wine vinegar


4 tbsp Butter, unsalted
2 tbsp Parmesan, grated

Beer, Wine & Liquor

1 (750 ml) bottle Red wine, dry

Oxtail Stew Recipe. My family LOVED this. Served it over cauliflower rice (topped with rosemary butter) Did not use the gravy master, added 2 Tbsp coconut aminos, no hot sauce, 1 jalapeno, 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes, 2 lbs oxtail. cook in Slow cooker for 4 hrs on high and 4 hrs on low.
