this is a piece of scrap wood soaked in a tea bath to get an older vintage look. ..two old rulers, screwed to the top and the bottom. they hold the paper in place but the bottom one also serves to tear a clean line. iron towel rack added the iron bar to the top. the paper roll is from lowes. its the paper in the paint isle.

while this can be done wrong and look cluttered, i love the idea of picture collages like this... when done right they are so fun, not only do they look like a work of art from afar, but up close they are a glimpse into your life and the people that make you smile :)

Paint letters/words as normal, then cut out along the configuration of your choice, hanging them to allow space between the "frames" and broken words.

How to transfer photos onto wood - it doesn't specify but you may have to use a laser printed picture like you do when transferring to canvas.
