Foyer - Idea House Photo Tour - Southern Living Foyer Open up and say "aah." A wide, dogtrot-like central hallway runs straight from the front door to the back, letting natural light and traffic flow easily. Frame the doors with portieres. Burlap draperies held in place with rope tiebacks add texture and give the entry the feel of a well-appointed room.

Make this a mudroom by substituting a long entry table with a beautiful tablescape on the right side, with a shelf on bottom for shoes and a shelf above for wicker baskets of stuff you need when leaving the house. You could also add boot trays under the bench for additional shoes.

We have some brass and glass light fixtures in our showroom right now that look just like these for $195 each!! | House & Home
