More End-of-the-Year Ideas!

inspired by Alma Woodsey Thomas, would be a good way to use end of the year scraps

2nd Grade - Paper Mosaic - Contrast - Construction paper. Borrowed from wonderful http://dalimoustache.blogspot.com/

1st grade work- this is a great idea- want to try with upper grade and use colored construction paper, have students cut out tree silhouette out of white paper to go on top.

By tearing stripes of different colours of paper, children create a sunset. Draw a big cactus on black paper and cut it out. Paste the cactus on the sunset sheet.

Give each student a sheet of paper with every classmate's name on it. They had to write a nice sentence about everyone in the class. Then each student has 20+ nice things written about him or her. This activity was great because some of the students in my class don't hear about how great they are at home. Keep them in a frame to preserve them. The kids will love hearing about how great they are from classmates.

7th Grade. Topography. Cut an organic shape of construction paper. Re-trace it on another piece and copy the line only a little smaller. Continue until the pieces become small. Once all the pieces are cut out, glue together, add a small piece of styrofoam in between to get the height to really show. Try to place the styrofoam above one another to make it easier to press down once it has been built up.
