LONDON OR BRISTOL DELFT POYCHROME 'TULIP AND LILY' BLUE-DASH CHARGER, 1685-1710.  Boldly painted in shades of blue, green, yellow and red with three tulips, two lilies, spiral buds and flat leaves growing from a low mound, surrounded by blue and yellow bands within a blue-dashed edge, the underside in white slip covered in a bluish lead glaze which has dripped, outer edge of the foot rim wiped clean. Diameter 13 1/4 inches.

LONDON OR BRISTOL DELFT POYCHROME 'TULIP AND LILY' BLUE-DASH CHARGER, 1685-1710. Boldly painted in shades of blue, green, yellow and red with three tulips, two lilies, spiral buds and flat leaves growing from a low mound, surrounded by blue and yellow bands within a blue-dashed edge, the underside in white slip covered in a bluish lead glaze which has dripped, outer edge of the foot rim wiped clean. Accession number: 24368 Collection place: Pickleherring, Southwalk, London 1626-1630 Earthenware H 14 mm; DM 176 mm Post-Medieval Almost complete English tin-glazed ware plate, decorated in deep blue and blue-wash with a bird-on-rock pattern surrounded by six Ming-style panels round rim, on an off-white glaze, back buff. This is thought to be one of the earliest articles with bird-on-rock decoration and is remarkable for its flat profile. From brick-lined cess pit in trench VIII.
