Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt-loved it. A fun read-if you liked The Help, you'll like this book.

22. A nice fun read after a much more emotional read for me. I liked this book, it was insanely predictable but I would expect that out of a book like this. There were a few times I just wanted to say, get it over with already. But mostly it was good. I have always been interested in learning ASL, this reminded me how much I would still like to do that. I really liked it. It was a fun, sad, easy, happy read. Just what Life Intended I'm sure.

The Life Intended: Kristin Harmel. Enjoyable story about moving on after a big loss and how you can do more than just let life pass you by.

The Night Garden: A Novel Magical realism. on Goodreads but recommended for fans of Sarah Addison Allen.

This was the last and I loved it b/c it was WWII setting which is one of my faves but I LOVE all Rosamunde Pilcher stories-- novels and shorts.

One of my favorites - Coming Home by Rosamunde Pilcher. I read this book every couple of years. I love how her vivid descriptions transport you into the book. This book takes place in WWIi England and gives you a real sense of the time and place.

THE KITCHEN HOUSE by Kathleen Grissom. Historical Fiction, plantations A lot of tragedies throughout the story, a terrific account of occurrences, excellent depictions of the surroundings and people. Through the author's wonderful descriptions, you feel you are right there......the novel is fabulously written. If you loved THE HELP, you will love this book as well or you may like it even more.

The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom

**The Kitchen House - Kathleen Grissom: 'When a white servant girl violates the order of plantation society, she unleashes a tragedy that exposes the worst and best in the people she has come to call her family.

"What the color is, who the daddy be, who the mama is don’t mean nothin’. We a family, carin’ for each other. Family make us strong in times of trouble. We all stick together, help each other out. That the real meanin’ of family." - The Kitchen House

I've learned that Starz has given a series order to Outlander, a drama based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling fantasy/romance/adventure series of books.
