DIY Reese Peanut butter egg. These are one of my FAVORITE treats during the holidays whether they are pumpkin, tree, egg, or heart shaped! My mom used to get them for me after the holiday when they were on sale. YUM! (I'm pretty sure I shouldn't print this recipe. It's dangerous to have in my house!)

HOMEMADE REESES EGGS!!!!! - Make sure to share the photo, which will keep the recipe on your page for future reference! Ingredients: -4 cups of powdered sugar -1.5 cups of smooth peanut butter -1/4 cup butter, melted -2-3 T milk -1 T shortening -3 c. semi-sweet chocolate ( I am not a huge fan of semi but milk would be disgustingly sweet...never thought I would say that but the semi is delicious!) Directions: Mix sugar, peanut butter and butter with hand mixer. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach desired consistency. Should look like dry play dough. Form each individual ball/egg in your hand and place on cookie sheet. No need to spray. Place in the freezer for at least an hour. Combine chocolate and shortening in microwaveable bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each interval until chocolate is smooth (It only took about 2 min for mine). Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. The blogger recommended using a skewer but I didn't have any so I just used a spoon and rolled it around then put it on the wax paper. It worked great..

Homemade Reeses eggs. The Whimsical Princess’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs Ingredients 4 cups powdered sugar 1 1/2 cups Creamy Peanut butter 1/4 cup butter or margarine 2-3 tablespoons milk 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1 tablespoon Shortening Directions: Mix together the powdered sugar, peanut butter, and butter. Add the milk one tablespoon at a time until it becomes a nice workable dough. It will be just like play dough, it will be really easy to work with. Form the dough into egg shapes, and place in the freezer for about an hour. Place the chocolate chips and shortening in a glass measuring cup. Microwave 1 minute at a time stirring in between until completely melted. (You can also use a double boiler if you prefer, but I am lazy) Dip each egg in the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper until set. (I use a skewer and then slide the dipped egg of and cover the hole) Once they are set you can trim any excess chocolate off that may pool at the base with a pairing knife to make them look pretty. You could also decorate them with royal icing and make a really special Easter treat.
