Q&A with Pakistan's First Female Architect

Yasmeen Lari is the closest thing Pakistan has to a design superhero. In the aftermath of a 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, Lari developed a bamboo shelter system called KaravanRoof, built with adobe-and-mud walls and strong bamboo cross-bracing.

Marion Mahony Griffin (1871-1961) - American architect who was one of the first females in the world to be licensed as one. She drew the renderings for Frank Lloyd Wright buildings and is considered an original member of the Prairie School.
