Cold Storage 101: basement, shed, or dark & dry pantry. Need large container (bushel basket, 5-gal bucket, Rubbermaid tub, clean trash can, etc); packing materials (sawdust, dry & clean straw, small animal bedding, good soil, or sand) Ensure produce is blemish-free, clean & dry. Layer 1" packing in bottom, loose layer of produce. Add packing around food, cont layers, end with enough packing to cover from air.
