Drip irrigation- I do this every year and it works great! Especially during a long Texas drought- less water waste. The only thing that kept my plants going, and once the plants get growing they hide the bottles. Quick and easy way to fertilize too! I use milk jugs, pop bottles, water bottles...just depends on the 'thirst' of the plant, size of the planting pot and amount of sun exposure it gets. Great way to kleep things watered when away for a couple of days. KMG Zone 7 NC

DIY Drip Irrigation System, Made from Plastic Bottles The 'system' is super simple. All we have to do is grab some 2-liter plastic bottles, punch 2 holes into the sides and 2 into the bottom, and plant said bottles next to our plants. Fill them with water and our plants will get that slow watering they prefer. For more information about the project, visit Fine Craft Guild.
