Do everything without whining, complaining or arguing. Every one has their own jar. Start off the week with a set amount of quarters in each jar. If they are caught whining or complaining, they lose a quarter. At the end of the week, they get the money that remains. Must start NOW!!!:)

Teach your kids to work! 43 chores young children can (AND SHOULD) do (18 months to 7 years old)

Calming jar; also seen as a time out jar...tell child/student that they need a break and may rejoin the group when everything has settled to the bottom.

Time-out bottles. Fill a bottle with 3/4 water, one bottle of glitter glue, & ultra fine glitter. Then send this bottle with your child to timeout and they can watch it settle to calm them. Once the glitter is settled their time is up! wow this is such a good idea! if they mess with the bottle their time out time is longer

A commission schedule for kids instead of handing them money for an allowance - great idea. I would have done a lot more chores when I was younger! frugaldad.com/do-you-pay-your-kids-an-allowance/

'Calm Down Jar' - shake the jar and the child has to watch the jar until the glitter settles. great alternative to using 'time out' as calm down time.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR! You do not get paid for chores because it's an expected part of being a family. Allowance is teaching children how to manage money. I have started this with the kids, the chore list doesn't get money but the commission chart does! There are different chores on each. AND she incorporates tithing and savings! Brilliant!
