I keep going back and forth about the island top. I like the clean look of a one level island, but then, it's not so clean when you have a cook top and are using it. So, I like the way this one wraps around the sides, and just steps down a little bit in the middle. It reads as one level, but there is a little "privacy" for the cook top.
This kitchen makes me think of the the sea! Love the cornflower-blue island and the watery-hued backsplash.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the old fashioned look of the flooring and Island/seats. Whitewashed cabinetry, marble countertops, and a generous island make this southern kitchen functional and charming. Don’t forget to accessorize the walls of your kitchen as you would your dining room―a mantel-like oven hood is a great place to start. (Photo: Laurey W. Glenn)
