Toledo Cathedral. Although construction began around 1200 in the gothic style, the cathedral took centuries to build, and areas within were later decorated to suit whichever style was popular at the time, including the baroque. El Transparente is one example, with its ornate design. The window overhead is a hole in the stone, allowing light to fall on the baroque sculpture inside the otherwise gothic structure, as if from heaven.
Located in Comillas (coastal village in Cantabria, Spain). Gaudí's first architectural work. This building (1883-1885) is contemporary with the Casa Vicens (1883-1888), which Gaudí erected in Barcelona. El Capricho is an example of Gaudí’s orientalist trend.
