It's so offensive when people say things like this, it depreciates the meaning of a serious illness. It's much more than a term! It is fine to read and search for self help to augment your own experience, but there is a problem if you are trying to label others -leave that to a doctor! I have bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, Insomnia and Anxiety.
Be careful how you use these terms! Phrases such as these depreciate the meaning of a serious illness. They can also cause shame to individuals suffering with various mental illnesses. i like this pin. The fact that people use them so lightly, makes it even harder for those who Do have mental disorders to be believed.

I'm also just tired of allowing my life to be meaningful from more stress/grind than from the sweetness it has. I am working to allow myself to have permission give myself the sweetness in life. It's okay to do that, I know, I haven't been able and willing to do that.
Expressive Arts Therapy would use this in an ExA format, but it's a good project! ~Gia

Distorted thinking. When someone has been abused over the span of time, thought patterns towards others can become distorted. Kindness, forgiveness and compassion are warranted- always. Someone I care about has displayed at least 10 of these towards me, but is convinced she is right. Hard to be on the back end of emotional abuse. Hurt people hurt people. I pray she will see things clearly. Her abuser is still controlling her behaviors, but she does not see things as they are.

An answer to one of the questions asked on my previous post ASK APRIL...next week I will answer the other question asked in those comments... I have a few chicks in my circle of influence (in my small group or mums group) who really struggle with anxiety and worry. We're doing a series by elevation…
It's good to know what ineffective thinking patterns we might have that limit our capacity to act authentically and freshly in each moment.

This great article outlines the recovery process for adult children of NPD parents "Therapy has three parts: (1) Understand the background, history and diagnosis, (2) Deal with the feelings related to the history, (3) Begin to re-frame and view life through a different lens. The Wild West philosophy of “get over it already” does not work with this recovery program, nor do simple affirmations or initial cognitive behavioral work."
[Here's an interesting article, but one aspect didn't resonate with me. In regard to the section about self healing, more effectively when the process is facilitated by the "right kinds of healers." This highly distracts from the info that YOU--in whatever stage you are in right now--CAN heal yourself with Belief and Intent. Of course, it must be in the best interests of your life plan and the universe.... Don't let anybody take away you power!]
