Homemade Crème Fraîche. I've been making this for years, and it's so easy: 2 c. Heavy whipping cream and 4 T. Buttermilk. Combine well in a glass jar and cover. Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours, until thickened. Stir well and refrigerate. It will keep for up to 10 days.
