mason jar lanterns covered with tissue paper and either break and pour glow stick inside, cover and shake or put a battery operated looking small candle inside or you can use a real candle but that is more apt to catch on fire??????

Love this idea to keep things simple & affordable. You can collect Mason jars over time from friends & family & tissue paper is suuuuper cheap. Throw in a battery-operated votive or light stick. All you need is lightning bugs.

DIY mason jar lights. Save those spaghetti sauce jars or find cast-offs at the thrift store then use a little white glue to apply recycled tissue paper to the outsides of the jars. drop in some beeswax tea lights and youve just made magic.

Buy a box of glow sticks, cut off one end & pour into the jar. Seal with a lid and shake to coat the inside. Instant lantern. note: this picture shows a mason jar with tissue paper and a candle, not the glow stick idea

Put tissue paper in a mason jar, then a flameless candle (battery operated) and put lid on. Line your sidewalk or put on tables for an outdoor party.
