Socotra: Yemen Legendary Island - Google Search http://www.yemeni-dreams.com/tourprograms/prog_s5ca.php
Mind-blowing and staggering photographs from the Socotra islands of Yemen. The archipelago is very isolated and about a third of its fauna is endemic to the islands, meaning that it can not be found anywhere else. The islands are considered a profoundly well-preserved jewel of biodiversity with over 700 documented endemic species of plants and animals and has been described as “the most alien-looking place on earth”.

Bottle Tree or Desert-Rose Tree at Qalansia Beach on Socotra Island, Yemen
Socotra Island, off the coast of Yemen. It’s been called the most Alien-looking place on Earth. Socotra is one of the most isolated land-masses on Earth that was once part of a continent. (In other words, it wasn’t formed by a volcano.) It has been disconnected from the main land for 6 million years, which has given evolution plenty of time to chart its own course without any influence from most common species found on continental land masses.

The Tower of London is one of the most important highlights of #London. She has been home to beheading murders, torture and hangings, as well as being a prison to Nobles. The Tower of London is also one of the most haunted places in Britain. Dozens of ghost sightings have been reported here. One of the most famous ghosts of the Tower is that of the spirit of Ann Boleyn, one of the wives of Henry VIII and the mother of Queen Elizabeth I, who was beheaded and buried here.

tower of london - Google Search
Tower of London, historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in London, England. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, & was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. The castle was used as a prison since at least 1100, although that was not its primary purpose. It is now home of the Crown Jewels of the UK

The Visovac Monastery is a Catholic monastery on the island of Visovac in the Krka National Park, Croatia. Visovac was settled by Augustinian monks, who established a small monastery and church dedicated to the Apostle Paul in the 14th century. Pamukke, Turkey is home to one of the most beautiful natural hot springs. The city contains springs and terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water and has been a bathing spot for thousands of years.
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is an unreal landscape in western Turkey, famous for its white terraces. The terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by water with a very high mineral content from the hot springs. People have bathed in its pools for thousands of years. The ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was built on top of the hot springs by the kings of Pergamon. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site.
Pamukkale, Turkey -- The bright blue pools of Pamukkale in Turkey look as if they're sitting atop piles of snow or cotton (Turkish for Cotton Castle), but in reality the natural pools and terraces are formed by calcite deposits. The thermal pools, with temperatures of around 95 degrees and a number of healing minerals, are thought to have therapeutic qualities, so take a dip in the Sacred Pool. Ancient emperors and kings used to vacation at the pools here, so you’ll be bathing in history.
Pamukkale, Turkey. Natural 'pools' that turn the stone white. AMAZING place, it even has ancient Roman ruins surrounding it.
Travel to Pamukkale, One of the Most Extraordinary Natural Wonders in Turkey Pamukkale—which means cotton castle—is named for its otherworldly landscape of bone-white travertine terraces housing cascading hot springs. Splashing in the mineral rich pools is like wading through the clouds. It’s no wonder that Pamukkale is a major national and European tourist destination. #Exotictravel #Vacation Save More Moolah with www.Foolah.com

What looks like a winter wonderland is actually a summer landscape with hot springs, crusted with calcium deposits. Pamukkale, in south western Turkey, is a natural mineral-bath spa first built by the Romans around a sacred hot spring and still open to the public as the Sacred Pool today.
