Snowball Fight...kids write 3 things about themselves on a sheet of white paper. They do not write their names on the paper. Wad it up and on your command, have a "snowball" (or baseball) fight. At the end of 1 minute, each student grabs the nearest snowball and tries to guess who wrote it. Would be great at the beginning of the year!
To prevent unfinished work from being lost, have them stick in their front folder. When they have finished something else, recess, or at the end of the day, they can look in their front folder for unfinished work.
Chart originally used for teachers--('Who I Am' graphic information sheet--first week of school) I will use this for genealogy when interviewing/researching family for our family tree and genealogy. Simplistic but tells a LOT.
