      Week 7: Homemade pretzel dough AND cheese sauce recipe. Annika's notes: Turned out great! Made a half batch of dough, but used full amounts for the boiling water and cheese dip. 10 minutes was just right for the pretzel bites. The cheese sauce was a bit bland; perhaps adding more cheese or a spicier ingredient would take it up a notch.

      Homemade pretzel dough and cheese sauce recipe. These turned out great! Loved them, however I didn't make the cheese sauce instead I brushed melted butter on them right out of the oven and then immediately tossed them into a large bowl of cinnamon and sugar and tossed until all the pretzel bites were covered. I then served them with cinnamon roll icing for dipping. They were delicious!

      Soft Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce - If you want to make them in advance for a party, these pretzel bites can be frozen after you cut them and before you boil them. Place the dough pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze then toss them in a zip-top bag. When you want them later, boil them directly from the freezer (add an extra 15 seconds to the boil time) and bake for the time instructed. (Would love this with a spicy salsa added to the cheese dip).

      Soft Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce - These are very good. The recipe makes a ton, but I am going to freeze some and see if I can just bake them again later. A little time consuming, but such a fun snack food. I also loved the cheese sauce, so simple but bursting with cheesy goodness. Added note: found that these froze well in a sealed container; spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 5 min (may change depending on size of bites, check often), tastes like fresh!
