HERB GARDEN: Contain aggressive perennial herbs by planting them in buried pots. Now this is a cool idea!

Cool herb garden idea, buried pots surrounded by mulch. Would also work for any plant that's not winter hardy placed anywhere in the garden!

Creating a Buried Pot Garden Pot-in-pot makes so much sense for taking them out to winter them. You could probably use the water collecting trays up-side down on them to cover the holes. Plant rotation based on seasonality and or just mixing it up for fun, ie from herbs and vegetables to flower pots would be awesome. I wonder if this would be a good way to conserve water as well, you could probably work something out in the pot-in-pot for some type of water storage. Great idea.

Buried pots contain aggressive herbs. This would be a great solution in the herb garden, probably would make weeding/weed blocking easier too. Could maybe turn another bucket upside down over the plant for winter protection (maybe for young blueberry bushes?).

The space was designed by John Fluitt, an Oklahoma landscape designer."
