I chose this pattern as the graphics in the piece are simple but effective. The block repeat works well with the black and white colors used in this pattern.

I want to do this with carpet tiles - get them in a bunch of different colors (or a bunch of different shades of white --> grey would be cool too) and cut them into right triangles. Then just lay them down randomly.
