"Fanny/Fingerpainting" by Chuck Close is created using thousand of fingerprints. Adjusting the amount of pigment applied to the finger and the pressure used creates a variety of tonal effects as he recreates photos.

While you may already know Chuck Close as that incredibly talented American artist who creates those huge photorealistic paintings, you may never have seen this mind-blowing piece. Called Fanny/Fingerpainting, it's a beautiful portrait of Close's wife’s late grandmother Fanny created with fingerprints!

When creating his artwork, American artist Christian Faur does not utilize pure dabs of paint to create these Pointillist-style images. He uses simple crayons as the medium for his artwork, but not in the way that one might typically expect.
