Gem Jar. This is a classroom management idea used to reward whole class behavior. Have a cut out of a jar taped to whiteboard. There are also a bunch of magnetic gems. When the class WOW's teacher-add a gem to the class jar. When class follows rules, displays good character, add a gem, then when filled, let them vote on their class reward. Extra Recess, Movie on Friday, Popcorn, etc
Warm Fuzzy Jar! When students are caught being kind they get a "warm fuzzy" to put in the jar. When the jar is full have a class party! :) (scheduled via http://www.tailwindapp.com?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=twpin&utm_content=post992449&utm_campaign=scheduler_attribution)
Being Respectful of our Peers: One activity that we do is create an imaginary classmate. The class decided to name our special friend, Justin. The students know how important Justin is, and if we say or do something in any way that is unkind or unfriendly, we have to tear a tiny piece off of our paper friend. The kids get very upset if we have to tear a piece from Justin. I firmly believe that this truly helps the kids understand how their words impact other people’s feelings.
First Grade Brownie Points - When the class gets a compliment from someone other than myself for good behavior they will earn a brownie for their pan. When the pan gets full of brownies the class gets real brownies....love this!
