Pumpkin Trifle. From Country Woman 1993. A great alternative to pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. I use homemade gingerbread. I have substituted Cool-Whip for the whipping cream. For a company Christmas party one year I took this and Lemon Trifle-used spice cake, no pumpkin or spices; and Chocolate Trifle-used spice cake, no pumpkin or spices. All three went over very well!
Caramel Apple Triffle: 3tbs butter, 4c chopped peeled tart apples (about 5 medium), 1c chopped walnuts, 1/2c packed brown sugar, 1tsp apple pie spice divided, 8oz cream cheese softened, 12-1/4oz caramel ice cream topping divided, 12oz frozen whipped topping thawed divided, 2 loaves (10-3/4oz each) frozen pound cake thawed cut into 1-inch cubes - click link for directions
Christmas Trifle. 1 can crushed pineapple, 3 bananas, 1 jar red maraschino cherries, 1 jar green maraschinos, 3-1/2 c eggnog, 2 pkg instant vanilla pudding, 1 prepared angel food cake, 1 carton whipped topping, ¼ c walnuts
3 cups fresh blueberries, divided 2 cans (15-3/4 ounces each) lemon pie filling 2 cups (8 ounces) lemon yogurt 1 prepared angel food cake (8 to 10 ounces), cut into 1-inch cubes 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed Lemon slices and fresh mint, optional
