The elephant is also known as Lord Ganesha, who is highly praised, loving, and is called the "remover of obstacles." Ganesha is also called Ganapati, which means knowledge and salvation lord. I pinned this picture because elephants are one of my favorite animals, and the symmetry and layers in it makes it very interesting.

Lord Ganesh, the Indian Conception: The idea of Ganesh represents an extremely sophisticated concept of Cosmic energy. Any representation of Lord Ganesh done with an intention to make people aspire to their higher selves is extremely powerful. Indian culture makes a distinction between art used for worship and art used for art's sake. This particular representation is worthy of worship. Would be a waste to reduce it to art.
