Art idea! Trace the hand in pencil. With a marker, draw a straight line until you get to the hand. Then make a curve from one line to the next, then continue the straight line. Fun activity for the day before a break :)

Optical illusion hand art. Trace your hand onto a piece of paper. Take a marker and draw a straight line from the edge of the paper until you reach the first edge of the hand. Then, draw a half moon, rainbow line, with the marker. Bring it back to the edge of the hand, then draw from the outer edge of the hand to the edge of the paper straight again. ___n___ <-- Like that sort of... :)

Doing this now but with a twist... handprints on the first day of school beginning now (preschool) until they graduate. How cool to ring them together and see how they grow!! Will do the "kissing hands" though, great idea for the kids to carry with them...as long as they're not "too cool"!

Doesn't it look like the hand is 3D on the paper? All you need are markers and a piece of paper to create this optical illusion.

This could be a neat project to do with almost any age. It's super simple to do; after tracing your hand, make a curved line connecting the two sides of your trace, make the outer lines straight. Could be a neat project to start about talk about 3-D Art! Very Cool! :) Jade Lins
