Love the old window and the shelf above kitchen sink, beautiful kitchen window idea :-)

I was specifically looking for shelves in windows for plants, but a shelf over the kitchen sink could be really useful! If you used a mesh shelf you could even use it to dry cups or glasses straight into the sink. If you have a great view out your kitchen window then I'd hate to obscure that, but since I'm staring at a brick wall some greenery or even just something practical would be a welcome relief.

Black subway tiles add to the country-chic feel of this adorable kitchen:

Things I love about this kitchen: farmhouse sink, glass cabinet doors, old window panel at the top and the shelf across the window, the old tin tile back splash, need I go on??

White cabinets with black counter tops and black subway tile back splash. Also, great storage about the sink.

Old pieces, new uses. A window as wall art and a feed sack as upholstery fabric.

This is very much my style--open, natural wood shelving, and all the dishes are cute. And there are polka dots!

Pretty window surround love all of the baskets, clear bottles with greenery, my Go-To summer decor items

Find the Bright Side...Don't let the inside of a wood-stained bookcase or hutch keep beautiful display pieces in the dark. Show off the contents and lighten the decorative mood of the entire room by painting the shelves' interior backing a lively color. Add even more personality by wallpapering the inside with a fun pattern.

Steal the Show?looking for backsplash ideas that would work with white cabinets and black countertops.

Cute idea: Use kicky kitchen dish towels for fun window treatments. Simply clip drapery hooks to the top edge of a dishtowel and hang from a cafe curtain rod. The towels are easy to remove for washing and can also be changed out seasonally. Plus, when you've decided to move on to a different window treatment, the towels can be used for their original purpose of drying dishes.
