Life Crafts & Whatever: Dawn + Vinegar = Soap Scum KILLA Equal parts blue Dawn and white vinegar

  • Alexis Reid

remove soap scum on shower door, heat 1 part white vinegar to 1 part blue dawn dish soap, spray, wait 2 hours, damp sponge off. Hummmm, if it works great, much less toxic than what I have been spraying to no avail.

OK, this works! My shower has never been this squeaky clean. 1 cup White vinegar heated up (microwave 1-2 min) with equal amount blue Dawn, gently shake and spray on and wait and then wipe away the soap scum. (I also used the leftover from the first batch at room temperature, and it worked just as well.) This is the BEST shower cleaner - I'll never use anything else again.

Soap Scum Remover: Make a vinegar "gel" by thickening vinegar with cornstarch. The vinegar CLINGS to what ever you spray it on...thus gives it more time to work. A little detergent cuts grease. I heated 1 cup of vinegar and 1 T corn starch in the microwave for 2 minutes. Add 2 T dish detergent and put it in a spay bottle. Spray. Wait 1hr. Wipe. Rinse.
