DIY rick rack napkins. Each of my kids has a 'color code' assigned. Thinking that having a make your own cloth napkin night and maybe even using fabric paint may be a useful activity. Knowing whose napkin belongs to who could be useful!

Confetti-Sprinkled Linen Napkins Over on Design Mom, brightly colored pieces of fabric were turned into napkins. Then with a little gold fabric paint, they were given a whole lot of pizzazz!

Feedsack for the Fourth. To make these, cut 10" squares of material and edge with 1/2" double fold bias tape. You can customize the look using a bias tape maker and fabric of your choice. Repurpose old sweaters or wool socks as candle cozies. Cut sleeves or socks to slip over glass candleholders and hem the edges to prevent fraying. Make the cozies a little bit shorter than the candleholder, to prevent the material from getting too close to the candle flame.

Fix for too small t-shirt. I did this to my pants. they are awesome! I get compliments all the time!!!
