One of the first things we bought when we moved to the Yukon was a wood stove. Many people heat with wood up there, although usually with a back-up. This makes me think of this guy's woodpile, who had 2 or 3 winter's worth of wood drying.
Wood is a natural resource that is found on trees. Trees are cut down so they, most famously, can be used to make objects like furniture. It's funny how humans think furniture is better than oxygen, because trees provide it.
